DAVOS - Each year in the small ski resort of Davos Switzerland the World Economic Forum gathers. Their tag line is “committed to improving the state of the world.”

Davos has become the global connecting point for innovators to bring their ambitions and solutions. From Entrepreneurs and promoters to the chieftains of the largest global entities gather at significant effort and expense to connect with other changemakers.

Outside the WEF (World Economic Forum) an estimated 100 organizers held nearly 1000 sessions. These are side events, not directly connected to WEF. They make up the majority of the estimated 15,000 people that attend.

According to Mark Tyrell, who created "UnDavos" and who has become the maven of all things outside the Kongress, early 1100 Side events were recorded. Undavos is the database of what is happening.

Undavos which as been in development for many years. A former WEF young global leader he has built a business around guiding people to the WEF from all things lodging. He is a factor in the WEF becoming an increasingly popular event. With German efficiency and discipline he runs a growing operation from the Mountain View Hotel in Davos Platz.

And his Whatsapp and Telegram groups have grown as well. He reported nearly 3000 registrants and 6000. We number about 10 with Davos in the title.

In small meetings and gatherings some of the brightest minds and ideas assembled, some with ideas that could be game changers. But what are they? Who are they?

We attended in the two in the House of Pioneers near Davos Dorf we learned of a wireless energy technology that could change the nature of energy transmission. Eliminate the need for cable and infrastructure. At the Wisdom House in Davos Platz, we saw a non-plastic plastic alternative to the single use plastics that could address this microplastics burden.  We saw a technology to greatly reduce the mental and physical challenges that women face from menopause and new approaches to mental health.

Wisdom House meeting room where thought leaders from around the world met. Where we a solution to microplastics, woman's health, vertical farming.

We saw a waste to energy approach to make vertical farming economically viable by producing all the energy needed to heat, fertilize and light from the waste generated. Capable of addressing food security needs worldwide.

We wondered, if in our limited exposure we say such breakthroughs, what other game changing ideas were being presented and how might we learn about them? And perhaps most important, how do we help these valuable innovations reach their potential for impact?

Our thinktank The Altru Institute has hosted events in Davos since 2017. Our model is to advance progress on complex challenges through collaboration.  In 2024 we introduced the Davos Consortium to connect organizations. In 2025 are introducing Consortium connect, a platform to help impact projects access resources.

Our objective now is to identity those projects to feature of the platform. “The best of Davos” and to share information on this ideas and companies with the world.  We will conduct broad survey with our members and and event organizers to identify the best ideas from Davos 2025.

We are seeking specific investible projects, not general insights or ideas for solutions but rather specific technologies or entities to be scaled.

We hope you find this interesting and join in fostering the development of such solutions.

In the coming two months we will write about these ideas and summarize them.  Subscribe to receive. Participate in our survey.
